I hope you're enjoying the Christmas/New Year season in whichever way you celebrate it 🤩🎄📆
I've enjoyed writing and posting about all things Bulerías Por Fiesta the last few months.
The best part of 2021 for me was creating and hosting a foundation round of my flagship course Become A Bulerías Boss!
Bulerías Por Fiesta is not always easy to 'get', especially if you're not Spanish speaking, or if you haven't learnt how flamenco dances are structured, or how to listen to the singer (cantaor/a) and notice the cues they are giving you..
On the flip side, those that do 'get it', don't quite know how to teach those of us who don't 'get it'!! That's where I come in 😊
I started off not 'getting it', and through a lot of self study I have cracked the code on this Por Fiesta thing (in English btw!).
That's why I created Become A Bulerías Boss - to help my fellow (English speaking) flamenco dancers learn how to improvise for Bulerías Por Fiesta, in a way that takes you from not 'getting it' to I got it.
Stay tuned because there's a lot more coming from this Flamenco Coach in 2022 ✨✨
To start the New Year right, I leave you with an energetic Bulerías Por Fiesta.. This video (posted by @jesus_bergel) is from the Escuela Internacional de Flamenco Manolete in Granada - the scenery behind the stage is spectacular, just like the dancing, the singing, the cuadro, all of it 😍 Enjoy
I share my step-by-step framework teaching flamenco dancers how to pull off the perfect pataíta and dance 'in the middle' (aka improvise!) without feeling terrified, not hearing the cues or knowing the parts of the dance!
